Checking in and out

・Tell me about check in/out times, and what to do.

Check in:
Please check in between 15:00 and 22:00. Please pay for the accommodation fee, and fill in your registration card.
For visitors from overseas, please show your passport.
If you are arriving after 22:00, please inform us beforehand.

Check out:
Please check out by 10:00 am.
An overdue fee will be added after 10:00 (\1,500/hr).

・Can you keep my luggage before checking in or after checking out?

Before checking in on the day of your stay, we can keep your luggage from 7:00 am. After checking out, we can keep your luggage until 22:00 on the same day of your check out.

・Is there an overdue fee?

For the dormitory-type room, there is an overdue fee of \1,500/hr per person.
For the private type room, there is an overdue fee of \1,500/hr per room.

・Can we keep our room key when we go out?

We have card-type room keys. After checking in, you can keep your card key to go out.
Please return the card key to the front desk at check out.

・Is the room automatically locked?

Our room doors are locked automatically. Please make sure that you have the card key when you go out.

・Is there a curfew?

Our room doors are locked automatically. Please make sure that you have the card key when you go out.

・Is there a curfew?

No, however, the front door is locked after midnight for security reasons. Please use the night time entrance next to the front entrance if you are coming back after midnight.
If you have the card key when you go out, you can open the door by yourself.

・Is there an age limit to stay at your hotel?

You have to be over 10 years old to stay at the dormitory-type room. Children under 10 years old can stay in a room other than a dormitory room; therefore, if you have any children under 10 years old, choose a room other than a dormitory room.

Facilities and Services

・Is there a bathroom/toilet in the room?

Private rooms with a unit bathroom have a bath tub and a toilet in the room.
For other rooms, please use the shared shower room and toilet located outside the room.

・Is there a coin-operated laundry?

We have three washing machines and driers (with detergent) available 24 hours (for a fee).

・Is there a kitchen I can use?

There is a shared kitchen space on the 2nd floor with a microwave, toaster, thermos bottle, refrigerator, ice-making machine, plates, and cookware available for you to use.

・Is there a food or drink service?

We have free coffee, tea, green tea, and water.

・What amenities are available in the room?

We have the following amenities in the room.

・Is smoking permitted in the room or hotel?

There is a smoking room on the first floor. Other areas of the hotel are non-smoking.

・Is there a locker or safe?

There is a separate locker (with a key) available for the guests staying in the dormitory-type room. There is no safe.

・Is there an internet connection available?

We have free Wi-Fi available in the hotel.

・What time is the front desk open till?

The front desk is open and available from 8:00 to 22:00.

Fees

・When can I pay?

Please pay for the number of days of your stay beforehand at check-in.
We accept cash (Japanese yen only) or credit card.

・What credit card can I use?

You can use a VISA, MasterCard, AmericanExpress.

・Can I pay in a currency other than Japanese yen?

We are sorry, but please pay in Japanese yen.
Also, please understand that we cannot exchange currencies.

・Is there a child rate?

No, there isn’t.

  <When staying in a dormitory-type room (except for private-type)>
Guest under 10 years old: We do not allow you to stay in the dormitory-type room.
Guest from 10 to 14 years old: You can stay in the dormitory-type room only when accompanied by a parental guardian.
Guest from 15 to 17 years old: We do not allow to stay at our hotel alone unless you have permission from your parental guardian.
To stay with us, all guests from 15 to 17 years old in the group have to have permission from their parental guardians.

・Can we use gift cards to pay?

We’re sorry but you cannot pay with gift cards.

Cancelation

・How can I cancel my reservation?

For guests in a group of up to 9 people, please call the hotel directly or cancel from the website you made a reservation, by 3 days prior to your check-in date.

For guests in a group of more than 10 people, please call the hotel directly or cancel from the website you made a reservation, by 4 weeks prior to your check-in date.
For cancelation after the period specified above, the cancelation method is the same, but please be aware that a cancelation fee will arise.

Please see the following:

(1) For individual guests (up to 9 people)
When cancelled 3 days prior to your stay: No cancelation fee

When cancelled 2 days to on the day: 100% of the accommodation charge

No-show: 100% of the accommodation charge

(2) For group visitors (more than 10 people)

When cancelled 30 days prior to your stay: No cancelation fee

When cancelled 29 days to 14 days prior to your stay: 30% of the accommodation charge

When cancelled 13 days to 8 days prior to your stay: 50% of the accommodation charge

When cancelled 7 days to 4 days prior to your stay: 80% of the accommodation charge

When cancelled 3 days to on the day of your stay: 100% of the accommodation charge

Other

・Can you receive a parcel for me?

Yes. Please write your full name and the date of check-in, and send your parcel with c/o R.STAR HOSTEL.

You can receive your parcel at the front desk at check-in.
Please note that we do not accept payment on arrival; please pay when you send the parcel.

・Is there a parking lot?

No, there isn’t. Please use a nearby pay parking lot.

・Do you lend bicycles?

No, we don’t.

・Can we send a parcel from the hotel?

Yes. Only domestic parcel. Please ask at the front desk.

・Can I invite a friend who is not staying at the hotel to my room?

We’re sorry, but we cannot allow anyone other than our guests enter the room from the view point of public morals, crime prevention and fire protection.
Please use the lobby in front of the front desk on the first floor to meet with your friends.

・Can my pet stay, too?

We’re sorry, but we do not allow any pets in the room.
However, assistance dogs (guide dog, hearing dog, service dog, and so on) are allowed in a private-type room only.

You need to apply at the time of reservation.
